Johnny Depp has signed a new deal with Dior. The fashion label has started publishing photographs and videos of the actor, announcing a new partnership with the controversial performer. It’s a multi-year deal earning seven figures, according to TMZ.
According to sources, Depp, who recently sold his art collection, signed with Dior in 2015 as the face of Sauvage perfume, and although the commercial was pulled after Amber Heard made the claims, he was never withdrawn as an ambassador.
According to TMZ, the contract was made “recently” and was verified when Dior executives and fashion photographer Greg Williams visited one of his presentations in Paris with Jeff Beck.
Before and after the session, they took a photoshoot with Williams, and the material would be utilized in the new advertising campaign. The Dior Beauty Instagram account uploaded a video from the exhibition on Monday, in which Depp remarked the fragrance of Sauvage perfume brought back memories.
In addition to directing the picture, Mawenn will co-star with Depp as du Barry. Benjamin Lavernhe, Pierre Richard, Melvil Poupaud, Noémie Lvovsky, Pascal Greggory, and India Hair will also appear in the film.
Depp hasn’t been in a film in three years. The news comes after he won a defamation trial against his ex-wife Amber Heard. Following his win, Depp said that the jury “gave me my life back,” adding that the “best is yet to come.”
