Jennifer Lopez expresses that bringing up teenagers feels akin to being “Knocked Over”

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have a lot on their plates.

The “Let’s Get Loud” singer spoke up about her and her husband’s mixed family during a recent guest appearance on Live With Kelly and Mark. The couple has five children in all, four of whom are teens.

“That’s nearly five teenagers.” “The youngest is 11 years old, so he’s not quite [a teen], but he’s a preteen,” Lopez said to hosts Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos. “He’s a guardian angel.”
“The adolescent years are difficult,” she continued. They begin to test you and everything. You have this kid for a bit, and then it’s like your closest little buddy who always wants to be with you, and then they’re like, ‘Get out of my room.'”

Consuelos, who has three children with Ripa, consoled the multi-hyphenate, saying, “But, you know, they come back when they’re in their 20s.”

“Twenties?!” Lopez responded. “Christ Jesus!” “I’m in such a bad mood.”
Lopez and ex-husband Marc Anthony have 15-year-old twins, Max and Emme. Meanwhile, Affleck has three children with ex-wife Jennifer Garner: Violet (17), Seraphina (14), and Samuel (11).

“It’s crazy; I swear I had them yesterday.” “They were only babies a short time ago,” Lopez added. “This is the stage at which they are individuating, and they are questioning everything you say, everything you do, and everything you are.” That’s exactly what it is. And you just have to ride the waves. It reminds me of surfing. I was simply surfing the waves when I was pushed down. I’m back now! “I’ve returned!”
She also discussed the difficulties of being a teen mother.

“I think it’s especially difficult for moms.” “Because they always seem to like Dad,” she said. “They’re always like, ‘Dad’s the best.'” And I was the same way with my father. My mother told me, and I’ll say it to you now on TV in front of everyone, “I understand you so much better now.”
