Johnny Depp ‘wants to purchase a UK pub run by The Great British Bake Off judge Paul Hollywood’s fiancée,’ according to reports.

According to The Sun, Johnny Depp is interested in a $1.2 million UK bar owned by Paul Hollywood’s fiancée.

The Pirates of the Caribbean actor, 59, who recently left Los Angeles for a tranquil life in the English countryside, is said to be highly interested in purchasing the Chequers Inn.

New pub master? Johnny Depp, 59, is allegedly eyeing a $1.2 million UK pub owned by Paul Hollywood's fiancée, according to The Sun; seen in 2021

Melissa Spalding, 38, who is engaged to The Great British Bake Off judge, 57, is apparently selling the charming eatery in the town of Smarden.
According to The Sun, Depp is a “huge fan” of the inn, which is “right up [the] street” from his $16.2 million Downton Abbey-inspired mansion.

The Alice in Wonderland star was reputedly encouraged by his close friend and bar frequent, artist Ralph Steadman.
‘Depp enjoys the pub and has done for years,’ a source said. ‘Johnny is fascinated by history and has previously shown an interest in purchasing a bar. It’s in the middle of the English countryside.’

Despite its homey appearance, the Chequers Inn is really extremely ‘posh,’ offering pricey premium fare that has apparently turned off residents.

‘It’s not what rural residents want,’ one dissatisfied client told The Sun. And it’s become so expensive in there lately.

‘They’ve recently released a new menu, which is a very top-notch luxury cuisine, with things like carrots done in charcoal, and so on. They recruited a new chef, who took his whole crew with him.’

Perhaps Depp’s star power will turn the inn around, as the beleaguered legend is set to make a return after winning his bruising defamation trial against his ex-wife Amber Heard, 36.
Earlier past week, the official trailer for Johnny’s next film Jeanne du Barry was released.

Depp returns to the big screen as King Louis XV in the French historical drama, co-starring with actress and director Mawenn, 46, who was recently accused of attacking a journalist by’spitting in his face.’

The comeback film has recently earned a significant boost by being chosen to open the Cannes Film Festival.
When it comes to purchasing random large cost products, Depp’s financial trigger finger is famously impulsive.

The A-lister’s famed money problems came to a head in 2020, when it was revealed that he had spent a whopping $650 million in movie royalties.

Johnny’s taste for precious art, wine, houses, islands, boats, and private jet trips is said to have led to his bank account’s demise.

But things are looking good for the Edward Scissorhands actor, who has been reinventing himself in both music and movies.
