After more than a year after giving birth, the world is now ready to discover the name of Rihanna’s lovely newborn boy!
According to The Daily Mail, which received a copy of the official certificate of live birth, the “Diamonds” singer and boyfriend A$AP Rocky named their first kid, who was born on May 13, 2022, RZA Athelston Mayers.
Rihanna and A$AP Rocky Rocky seems to have drawn inspiration for their son’s name from legendary music producer and Wu-Tang leader RZA.
As for the nearly-1-year-old’s middle name, it is inspired by his father’s middle name — A$AP Rakim Athelaston Mayers is Rocky’s real name.
Rihanna has notably been seen sporting Wu-Tang Clan t-shirts, and RZA merch, since giving birth.
The vocalist is pregnant with the couple’s second child — which she disclosed during her high-flying Super Bowl halftime concert in February — and her baby bulge has been the star of the show lately.
Rihanna recently wore it beneath an Acne Studios long leather trench, along with a matching mini-skirt and thigh-high heels, on a date night with A$AP Rocky in New York earlier this month, and that excursion occurred after they shut down the red carpet at the 2023 Met Gala.
ET’s Rachel Smith chatted with the pair at the star-studded event, where they discussed their dress choices as well as plans to extend their family.
“It’s so different from the first one,” Rihanna said. “There are no desires. There was a lot of nausea. Everything is different, but I’m having fun.”
When it comes to their kid, who will be one year old this month, the delighted parents couldn’t help but fawn over him. “I’m madly in love.” “I’m obsessed, and I don’t feel guilty about it,” Rihanna said, while the pleased father added, “[He’s] growing big.” Beautiful, happy baby.”
