Rihanna will appear in the next animated film The Smurfs, which will be released in 2025. Rihanna has been cast as “Smurfette” in the animation franchise’s next live-action film. According to Variety, Rihanna will also create and record original songs for the film, as well as produce the soundtrack.
Riri made an unexpected cameo at CinemaCon in Las Vegas, where she announced her participation. “I tried to get the Papa Smurf role, but it didn’t work out,” Rihanna remarked. Getting into animation is an exciting adventure for me. I’m typically the center of attention with my likeness…but this was wonderful because I got to fantasize, and I got to walk up in my pajamas in my third trimester and be a blue badass.” She also hoped that her involvement in the film would change how her children saw her: “I hope this gives me a little bit of cool points with my kids one day.”
Rihanna previously voiced Gratuity in DreamWorks’ animated film Home. That picture made over $380 million at the box office globally. The film ‘The Smurfs’ will be released in cinemas on Valentine’s Day 2025.
