UK Care Worker Visa Ban (July 2025)
On 22 July 2025, the UK government banned all new international recruitment of Care Workers (SOC 6135) and Senior Care Workers (SOC 6136). Employers can no longer sponsor overseas workers for adult social care roles. NHS clinical roles -- nurses, doctors, and allied health professionals -- remain open.
Transitional Arrangements (until July 2028)

Australia: AHPRA Streamlined Pathway (April 2025)
From April 2025, nurses from the UK, Ireland, US, Canada, Singapore, and Spain can register with AHPRA in 1-3 months instead of the previous 9-12 months. No additional exams are required for nurses from these countries -- their qualifications are directly recognized under the Competent Authority pathway.
Germany: Triple Win Program (Expanded)
Run by GIZ and ZAV, the Triple Win program has placed 8,000+ nurses in Germany with a 90%+ satisfaction rate. It recruits from the Philippines, Indonesia, Tunisia, India, and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
